When it comes to analysing the success of online gambling, we have to examine both sports gambling online and online casino gambling because most of the major online gambling sites offer both of these gambling options. Both of these online gambling activities have succeeded primarily because of the variety of sports or gambling games that can be found online. The online casino gambling sites in particular have developed such a huge range of gambling games for us to try that it would take us many hours to try them all. Most of these new gambling games are of course slots games, but even the more traditional casino gambling games such as poker have seen a transformation in the variations of the game we can now play online. Texas Hold’em remains the favourite poker format for serious poker gambling enthusiasts, but variations such as Pai Gow poker are also gaining in popularity online. Pai Gow poker is a version of the game played against the house for fixed odds, making this poker format an excellent choice for those of us on a limited budget. Pai Gow poker is played with a standard 52 card deck plus one joker, and the player and dealer are both dealt seven cards from which to form two hands, one of five cards and the other being the remaining two cards. The five card hand must be higher ranking than the two card hand and the player must win both hands to take the pot, whereas the dealer only needs to win the five card hand and tie the other hand to win. This is of course the house edge which is present in all forms of casino gambling. We should also point out that the joker is not a universal wild card and can only be used to complete a straight or a flush in the five card hand. Pai Gow is a quick and easy form of poker which is an excellent introduction to the ranking of poker hands and is great fun for those aspiring poker fans who do not have the resources to play poker games such as Texas Hold’em.
