Motor sport gambling is not just Formular One

The power of marketing is such that for most people mention of gambling on motor racing immediately brings to mind Formular One. Now that the 2011 Formular One season is over and the world championship emphatically claimed by Sebastion Vettel and Red Bull, you would be forgiven for assuming that opportunities for motor sports gambling would have to wait until the 2012 season got started. If Formular One is your main interest, you can already start gambling on the 2012 season and Ladbrokes are offering 4/5 on Vettel retaining his title next year for the third time. Alonso, Hamilton and Button are all quoted at 5/1, so if you believe that Ferrari or McLaren must get closer to Red Bull in 2012 you may think this is a good bet. Gambling on motor sports does not however completely revolve around Grand Prix racing, and January sees the start of another popular motor sport season, with the world famous Monte Carlo Rally getting under way. Rallying always attracts good spectator numbers at every event, and is not quite so predictable as recent Formular One seasons have tended to be, with the result that gambling odds tend to be a little more generous. Other motor sports popular with Irish motor sport gambling fans include Speedway racing and  Hill Climbing, both of which are usually available to sports gambling fans outside the Formular One season, so don’t just assume that motor sport gambling is limited to Grand Prix car racing.
